Arrow Slide

Arrow Slide is a grid puzzle built on one satisfying rule: tap a tile and it slides in the direction its arrowhead points until it runs off the board. Empty the grid and the level is cleared. The board is packed from the start, though, and a tile can only reach the edge if the whole path in front of it is free - so the order you tap in is the entire puzzle.

Some arrows are bent, and those slither rather than shoot: the body follows the head around the corner. That means a tile which looks cornered can still have a way out, and one that looks open can run into a neighbour halfway there. Clear the tile standing in the way first and three taps can empty a crowded row.

Getting it wrong costs you. Tap a tile whose path is blocked and it bumps back into place and takes one of your three lives, and running out of lives ends the run. When a board refuses to open up, Hint points at a safe move and Eraser removes a blocker outright.

Tips for a clean board

• Work from the edges in. The tiles nearest the rim have the shortest route off the board, and clearing them opens the paths behind them.
• Read bent arrows before you tap. Follow the body around the corner - the exit is where the arrowhead ends up, not where it starts.
• Never tap a blocked tile to see what happens. It costs a life and changes nothing, so read the path first.
• Save the Eraser for a tile that blocks several others at once, not for the first one that annoys you.
