Stack Bounce 3D

Stack Bounce 3D drops a bouncing ball onto a floating helix tower and asks you to take the whole thing apart, ring by ring. The tower turns under your finger - drag horizontally, or use A and D on a keyboard - and the ball comes down onto whatever you have lined up beneath it, so turning the spiral is really steering the ball.

Break the platforms and it descends. Break several in one drop and a combo builds, and that is what charges Fireball mode: while it is lit you smash straight through the rings that would otherwise stop you, including the red spiked hazards that cost you one of your three lives if you land on them. Stars you collect pay for ball skins, and the music layers up as the combo grows, so a clean run sounds different from a scrappy one.

It runs in your browser with nothing to download and is built for a phone held upright, where the whole screen is the control surface - though a mouse and a keyboard work just as well on a desktop.

Tips for a longer descent

• Keep the tower moving. The ball lands where it falls, so the spiral wants to be turning before it arrives rather than after.
• Chain a single drop. Rings broken without letting the ball settle are what light Fireball.
• Respect the red platforms. Three lives sounds generous until you are deep in the tower and moving fast.
• Spend Fireball on a hazard. Blasting through a spiked ring you cannot dodge is worth more than a few easy platforms.
