About Four Colors Multiplayer

Four Colors Multiplayer is the card game everyone already knows how to play: get rid of your hand before anybody else by matching the card in the middle on colour or number. Play something you cannot match and you draw instead, so the round is really about holding the right colours at the right moment and knowing when an action card is worth more than the point it costs you.

The table seats four - you against three opponents - and the action cards are what turn it from a matching exercise into a decision. Skip takes a turn away, reverse sends play back the other way, draw two and wild draw four hand the problem to whoever is next, and a wild lets you call the colour that hurts them most. The rule that catches people out is the one-card call: down to your last card you press the 1 button, and forgetting it costs you a penalty draw.

Three ways to play: against the computer, in a multiplayer game, or by passing the device to a friend so you share the same table. It runs in your browser with nothing to download, and the board suits a phone - tap a card to select it, tap again to play.

Tips for emptying your hand first

  • Keep two colours alive. A hand spread across two colours survives a colour being taken away; a hand of one colour stalls the moment a wild changes.
  • Save the action cards for the end. A skip or a draw two played when somebody is on their last card is worth far more than one played early.
  • Watch which colours are leaving the table. Once most of one colour has gone round, keeping it is usually a wasted slot.
  • Press 1 the moment you are down to a card. It is easy to forget and it is the mistake this game punishes every time.

Four Colors Multiplayer is a card game made by Code This Lab and published on GameDistribution. It plays with a mouse or a touchscreen, on desktop and on mobile.

How to play

Select: tap or click a card, then tap again to play it. Match: the card you play has to share a colour or a number with the one on the discard pile. Draw: no match means you draw a card, and you can only pass if the drawn card does not play either. Action cards: skip, reverse, draw two and wild change the turn order or force a draw - hold them for the end. One card: press the 1 button when you are down to a single card, or you take a penalty draw. Modes: play against the computer, in a multiplayer game, or pass the device to a friend.
